Commissioner for International Cooperation Shuhei Oshima attended the 49th APPA Forum held in the USA on 25 – 26 June, 2018.

The PPC has sent its delegates to this Forum, where Commissioner for International Cooperation Ohshima gave a presentation on (1) the strengthening and substantiality of the PPC’s structure, (2) the outline of “Privacy Awareness Week(※)”, and (3) the PPC’s global approaches related to personal information protection, and he stated participation in three working groups established in APPA.

This Forum was attended by 17 data protection authorities (DPAs) from 11 countries and regions, and they discussed issues related to amendment of a personal information protection law, enforcement, responses made to data breach incidents etc.
